11:20 pm - UPDATE, motherfuckers!
Nobody fucking updates anymore (except Shasta because she is the awesome), so I shall take it upon myself to do so (the vodka helps).

I can't remember where I left off, but Christmas made all my dreams come true. Or... not all of them, but it was awesome because... PRESENTS!

THE LOOT
An amazing chair (if anyone wants to see it, go to www.jcpenney.com and search "camille accent chair"), which hasn't yet arrived because it's on backorder
An awesome comforter set, which my mom just happened to buy a matching pillow to because she knew I'd love it
Scene It II
Money that went towards a 4" memory foam mattress pad
X-Files: I Want to Believe (technically for our anniversary)
Muppet Christmas Carol
The Whole Brain Game
Seafarers of Catan + 5-6 player expansion
Metalocalypse Season 2
A bath rug set with matching candle and penguin shower curtain (too bad I have a door shower) from my dad, which made me really happy because this is the first year in a long time he's actually picked something out for me
And a lot of other little things that made me ridiculously happy.
Basically, I got way more than I'd expected and I loved everything I got.

Even moreso, Dani spent Christmas at my mom's with us! And then Scott and Britin came over for a while and we all played Wii Music. Majorly good times.

I don't recall, at the moment, how the next week was, but I worked a fuckton, until the Tuesday before New Year's. Then I had Tuesday off, worked Wednesday, had New Year's day off, worked Friday, had the entire weekend off, worked today, and have tomorrow off. Because I'm awesome.

New Year's was good. Chris came over again, and though we were planning a decent-sized party, it ended up being pretty mellow (but fun). Vicki and the girls also came over, and we all had fajitas and played Wii and other board games. I didn't get drunk until after midnight, partially because it was awkward having the kids around, but mostly because I was full of food and didn't feel line ingesting anything else.

New Year's day was good... I don't think I did anything, but isn't that really the point? Oh right, we took Chris home, and since he lives in Mt. Shasta, we ended up stopping by to see Britin. Though I immediately wanted to leave because her apartment spelled of garbage, she roped us into playing Rock Band. I sucked ass at drums, but apparently I'm awesome at singing. Yay, a music-themed videogame I'm good at!!! It was really fun.

Ummm since then not a lot has happened, except on Friday I finally got a DESK at work! YAY!!! I even got office supplies to go with it. I probably shouldn't be as excited as I am, but it made my whole day. It's almost like I'm a real manager now... woot!

The weekend was boring because Shasta and Bethany didn't come over, which I was kind of expecting. But I did make Brian rearrange things with me, and seeing him hate me is always fun. =P

Anyway, Shasta is here now and we're drinking, and I don't even want to think of how many typos (and, more importantly, run-on sentences) I've made, so I should go. I can't believe I FINALLY fucking updated.

3:03 pm - I could never get the hang of ideology
Someone posted a video of Tim Curry singing "I Do the Rock" (of which I actually have the LP at my mom's house). It's amusing if you love Tim Curry. And let's face it--who doesn't love Tim Curry?

7:40 pm - Why I Hate My Neighbors. Part one of what will surely be and endless series.
My neighbors across the street have a house that flies the Confederate flag. Last night I heard them blasting gangsta rap.

I find the two things counter-intuitive. Sure, all these white rednecks fly the confederate flag and claim it isn't racist, but is rather just a matter of "southern pride."

The last time I checked, northern Californian isn't the south.

5:58 pm - Oh media, you're such a whore
A friend on Myspace had this article in her blog, and I thought it was pretty interesting. It's about the quick-fix self improvement in the form of plastic surgery, vs. the psychological-fix in movies and TV. Or rather, how in the 90s it was all about therapy, and now it's all about makeovers. Pretty interesting (and accurate).

10:47 pm - That's right, I bought you a circus.
So, the past few weeks have been interesting. Last weekend I found myself at a rave, a belly dancing show, and making a new friend. Random?

Rhyan and Ethan organized a rave for Ethan's 16th birthday, and I am apparently so old now that I can chaperone. Tagging along with the few high schoolers I know felt a little sad, so I opted to be emo and hang out at the wall scoping out kids who might be inebriated. Since apparently they were all good kids, I soon tired of this and decided to make small talk with the other chaperone, Cheryl. Turns out she was basically cool before it was cool, and for some reason loved me enough to give me the last remaining ticket to the Big Bellydance Show (in which her daughter was performing). Sweet.

Naturally, the next night I had to close and basically had to drive 15 miles in 10 minutes. Of course, with my car, that isn't actually possible. Good thing belly dancers aren't punctual. The show was amazing, with a lot of different styles. One of my favorites was this kind of modern goth-industrial style group. They're actually from Sac, so all you Sac people should go to www.unmata.com. The group we saw was Verbatim. Seriously, check them out. They have a super-gay belly dancing BOY! So cute.

Anyway, that was fun, and Cheryl is awesome. Hopefully she calls me. Though it is a little weird that her kids are closer to my age than she is.

Other than that, it's been more or less work as usual the past week. Oh, Theresa did call me into her office the other day and said she had to discuss with our district manager who she thinks could move up in the company. Evidently, the company estimates needing at least 450 new store managers nation wide within the next three years, so they're trying to move everybody up. Theresa recommended me to move up in the company and thought if I was willing to relocate, I could within a year. So that's pretty cool. I mean, obviously it's still not as good as going to school and getting a real job, but since I probably won't be ready for that any time soon, at least it's a chance to make more money. Which I can in turn save to go to school and get a real job. Yay options. It also feels good to know that my work is appreciated. I actually almost kind of like my job sometimes... Okay, maybe not really. But I at least care that my job is done right (even before Theresa reccommended a promotion), and don't hate everyone I work with.

In other news, Brian's brother Jon and his wife Margie are going to be visiting us tomorrow, so that's awesome. We haven't seen them in nearly two years (they've been living in Japan), so that should be nice. Brian's giddy.

1:46 am - Speak the speech I pray you, trippingly on the tongue...
So, tonight was the last show. It went pretty well. Our audience was kind of lack-luster, despite being a nearly full house. I think they just weren't as vocal and/or didn't get much of it as some of the other audiences. Kind of your typical Saturday night crowd though, so it's all good. MaeNell and Sharon came. It was nice that at least two of my co-workers came. Kind of wish some of my other friends would have (*cough*Bethany-and-Shasta*cough*), but oh well. People have lives, which I should know, since mine interferes with me doing stuff too. Like say, the Wild (another show that'll be on in November, which I can't do because of work).

Aaaaaaaaaanyhoo, last night's show was also pretty good, though it was a bit of a slow start. Each of us in the first scene had a moment of Oh, you mean I should be saying a line right now? and/or Oh whoops, I left my prop backstage. But we picked it up after that. Afterwards, Pete, Susunnah, Brian and I went to Denny's and ate ourselves retarded. Came back here and played Wii for a while, and were in bed by 2:30. Meanwhile, my mom went to the bar, then back to a friend's house, didn't get to bed until nearly 4:00, and woke up this morning still drunk. I love how the young people are totally outdone by the old.

Today before the show, I went up to Ashland and spend a ridiculous amount of money on a present for Linda and some hair dye. Came back to get Brian's present for stage managing, and he was walking home... so much for that. I also ended up buying Lynna's flowers for stage managing, Kevin's beer, and a picture frame for each castmember (and Linda) and doing a quick picture to put in said frame. It left me rather poor and without time to spare, but oh well. Hopefully I won't need groceries before Friday.

After the show tonight, we had the cast party at Robin's house. It was pretty fun, but everyone started leaving about 12:30. I'm one of those people who likes long cast parties, so it was a bit disappointing. I want to drag out a show until the bitter end. Especially this one. It was SO much fun once we knew what we were doing. And I'm going to miss everyone. You always say you're going to hang out after the show, but it kind of just doesn't happen until the next show (which doesn't always have the same people). It's really kind of devastating when you think about it. At least I'll see a couple people tomorrow when we strike the set (mehhhh they're tearing down our BEAUTIFUL SET).

Anyhoooo I'll probably post pictures either here or on my Myspace pretty soon. You guys probably won't find them as amusing as I do, but eh, it's my LJ/Myspace, so whatevs.

Meh, I'm kind of getting all sad-like, so I'ma go do something else now.

11:29 pm - Craaaazy. Toys in the attic, you are craaaaaazy.
So tomorrow is my epic drive to Redding. Which really isn't that far away, and I wouldn't care except I hate driving alone for more than like ten minutes. Mostly I'm worried I'll get lost and won't have anyone to navigate me. Oh, and I totally don't want to get up at 5 a.m. on Thursday, work for six hours, drive back, and still have a dress rehearsal to do at night. But whatever. I should stop whining about it until I actually have to do it.

Meanwhiles, had second dress tonight and I SUCKED. I skipped two or three lines, and then was really late on my cues. But damn if I didn't get my hair and costumes right. Meh. Plus John totally biffed a couple of his lines and didn't stay in character. Last night was better, even though both my mom and Connie totally forgot key lines, and Pete and I had to save them. I felt like that wasn't as bad though, although we did have an audience of two (Scott and Britin came because Scott might not be able to see it otherwise).

Ummm other than that, I'm wearing fake nails, which make it really hard to type even though I've cut them down to real-nail level. I thought using real nail glue would be a good idea because they'd actually stay on. Which they do. Except now I can't get them off. Acetone, here I come.

Anyway, I guess this entry was really just to procrastinate the packing I must do. Too bad I didn't quite get around to laundry today. But I was too busy taking inventory of our Christmas decorations at Penney's (even though today was my day off), running errands, dying my hair, and lying in bed thinking about sex for two and a half hours this morning instead of sleeping. Um yeah, good times. Or not.

Okay, I'm going to go eat some ice cream, and then maybe I'll pack. Maybe.

12:10 am - Suddenly, and without warning...
As many of you know, I'm somewhat of a grammar/word usage/spelling/general English language snob. Though I do tend to use colloquialisms and knowingly end sentences with a preposition, I nevertheless find it terribly bothersome when people put adjectives where there should be adverbs, think double-negatives are okay, or use the wrong word in common phrases. Unfortunately, every now and then, I too mess up a phrase (for instance, I thought the phrase "hold the phone" was actually supposed to be "hold the foam" for YEARS), leading me to doubt myself when I hear other people use a different word.

I haven't ever talked about this before, at risk of being horribly mistaken, but I always was SURE that "all the sudden" was incorrect. However, I didn't know where to look it up, so I would usually just say "suddenly," and inwardly cringe when people said "all the sudden."

Well tonight, upon clicking a link of commonly misused English words, I found out that I've been right all along:
An unexpected event happens not “all of the sudden” but “all of a sudden.”

That's right, folks, all of A sudden. Not THE. And there's an OF in there as well. So if I ever see anyone write that incorrectly again, I'm going to be a total Nazi about it.

Ummm in other news, it turns out that EVERYONE (including Karen) has to work next Saturday and the store actually closes at 10:00 rather than 6:00, which means I'm not closing. Also, apparently Desiree has to work EVERY weekend until Sharon comes back, so it looks like being stuck closing every Thursday isn't such a bad deal. But I still hate my job and want to stab everyone in the face... figuratively speaking, of course. Too bad I forgot to get those job listings from Dani.

Also, I had my first rehearsal for I Hate Hamlet. It's going to be hilarious, but apparently my accent fades in and out. I guess it's time to YouTube The Nanny and get my New York on.

11:44 am - MEH.
So, as a closer at work, I'm supposed to have every other weekend off, and then on the other weekends I usually close, as well as Monday being my standard closing night, and every fourth Friday.

Sharon is on surgery leave, so since she's my "closing buddy" Karen decided that I have to close every Thursday night now too. And now I just checked my schedule for next week, and I don't even have my Saturday off. Not just that, but I have to CLOSE that Saturday. Instead I have Tuesday and Wednesday off. What kind of bullshit is that? Seriously, as soon as I get my raise, I need to leave. But I want to be able to be getting at least $9/hr so I can ask for that at whatever jorb I apply for next.

Ummm in other exciting events, I went to the Siskiyou Golden Fair last night and it was as boring and poinless as ever. A couple people were fucking awesome in the talent show, and didn't even make it to the finals, losing out to people who sang country songs... BADLY. It really pissed me off, since I knew a couple of the judges and had hoped they'd judge more on talent than on choice of song. Of course, the criteria were Appearance, Confidence, and Audience Reaction. Note how none of those things are TALENT. But anyway. At least I got a jingly belly dancer wrap thing at one of the concessions.

Yeah, nothing else to write in this entry. I'm going to go be pissed off now.

3:28 pm - Entry.
Before I really start this, I should clarify that it was Britin who actually came to the show and Dani who missed it. I guess Dani had wanted to go but had spaced on the date because I didn't remind her, and Brian or Britin or Pete didn't invite her. Also, my dad actually had intended to go but his tractor broke and taking care of it took longer than expected. I still wish he'd called me, but at least he had a good excuse.

Anyway, I haven't written since the night the show ended, mainly because I've been keeping busy, but not in a way that's interesting to report. There's always a weird sense of down time after a show, a period of mourning really, where the thought of going back to the mundane-ness (there's got to be a better word than that, someone help me out here) of real life seems kind of unimaginable.

Luckily, the day after the show I had to work all day. The next day was my day off, and after sleeping for about 10 hours, I got some shit done and then went to Medford. The very concept of sitting at home and doing nothing (or even just staying home and cleaning) felt wrong and unproductive, so I kept myself busy. I managed to find something to occupy me (whether or not I wanted to) pretty much every day that week, until Brian got a cold and I finally caught it on Sunday.

Monday the 30th I still had the cold, but went to an audition/reading for I Hate Hamlet for which I got the part (not that there was any question, really, since Linda had more or less already offered it to me).

I figured since I had Tuesday off, I'd have that day to recoup and my cold would be waning by Wednesday. Not so; it actually got WORSE on Tuesday and continued being a pain in the ass through Thursday. I decided to call in Friday, saying I'd work but only until someone else got there. I actually felt a lot better than I'd expected, but I still had a bitch of a cough (still do a bit), so it was nice to leave early, especially since I had weekend plans (more on that later).

Also last week I decided I needed to dye my hair... a lot. I bleached out all the brown parts, but some of it didn't bleach, so the next day I did it again. This was all so I could do it BRIGHT FUCKOFF RED, which is awesomely blinding, but ended up being a little more orange than I would have liked, much like the last time I did BRIGHT FUCKOFF RED. However, I did a fade from that to dark red to burgundy, which looks pretty cool.

Pictures )

Now, in case any of you are wondering why those pictures are not taken by me in my house, like most of my new-hair pics are, I shall now get to the story of last weekend.

Britin has been planning a zombie movie for several years now, and finally decided we needed to do it. Since we were having Dani's going-to-Spain party at the cabin at Butte Creek, Britin decided it was the perfect location for the zombie movie.

Brian, Britin, Scott and I drove out to Butte Creek Friday night (Dani wasn't going to go until Saturday because she was waiting for Dagoberto to come up from Napa), but not before Britin and Scott's car decided not to start. It wasn't the battery either, which means it probably has the same problem my car does. Anyway, once out there, we didn't have a whole lot of daylight left, so we forwent filming in leiu of roasting Polish dogs and marshmallows over the campfire. Deliciously good times. Once it got dark we went into the cabin and played Catan. That took longer than expected, so it wasn't until well after midnight that Scott, Brian and I decided to go fishing. Britin decided to stay at the cabin and go to bed instead. Fishing was a total waste of time. The water was too low and the fish (if there were any) weren't biting.

Once back, we ended up going to bed around 2:00 a.m. Brian and I slept horribly (I had tons of coughing fits, and he had bugs attacking him). Nevertheless, we were up and ready to do stuff by 10:30. Britin and I made a huge breakfast of bacon, eggs, pancakes, and hashbrowns, which took forever. Since we figured Dani and Dago would be there by noon and they still weren't, we decided to shoot a scene. My character in the movie is a total badass (hence the gun picture), and ripped Britin a new one for falling asleep on watch. After that, we were going to do one of the many walking montages, and decided since we were driving to the entrance of the property anyway, we'd call Dani and see if she'd left yet. At this point it was 2:00 pm, and it turns out there was a message from Dani on Britin's cell phone from 1:09 saying that she was about to leave, but was also bringing her parents and her 12 year old cousin, and that she wouldn't be staying the night because she'd totally forgotten that it was her mom's birthday.

Needless to say, we were all pretty pissed off. First of all, that kind of ruined our movie plans, and secondly, my dad is really weird about people going out to Butte Creek in the first place, and she'd invited 3 extra people. Everyone nominated ME to be the one to call her and be a bitch. I told her that we were all mad at her, and she said if we were going to be mad at her she wasn't even going to bother going. I didn't want to ruin anyone's weekend, so I backed down and told her to come. The rest of us were all in a bad mood and just didn't feel like doing the zombie movie anymore, and instead decided to go swimming.

The water was freezing, so I was the only one who got totally wet. I wouldn't have, but since Britin had suggested an awesome shot of me being a dead person with their hair flowing in the stream, we decided to go ahead and do it (hence the picture of my hair in the water). In the middle of that, Dani and her entorage arrived, and since she was still all for doing the movie, we shot a bit of it while her parents went fishing. We made her little cousin, Mica, our zombie and he was actually really good at it. Yay for cool 12 year old boys.

Dani's parents came back eventually, and apparently her dad had caught tons of fish and let them go. We were jealous, since our fishing had been terrible the night before. Dani, Dago, and Mica hung out for a while and we (mostly Dago and Brian) made dinner. Eventually it started getting dark, so Dani & co. left. I think the rest of us played Catan again, then went to bed.

The next morning we had muffins, then cleaned everything and left. Despite my falling through part of the deck (rotten board) and Brian having a near-concussion, we'd all managed to not get hurt, really. So of course we got to my mom's house and a wasp flew into my head and stung me. It felt like someone had just stabbed me in the temple. I put some Benadryl cream on it and my mom gave me a Zyrtec, so I was exhausted for the rest of the day. That was okay though, because it was my day off and I got to be lazy and take a shower (mmm shower), so yay.

Yesterday (Monday) I went to work and no one had told me to dress nice because Dianna, the assistant manager from Redding who's been sent to spy on--er, I mean, "help"-- us was there. It ended up not being a big deal, but it still annoyed me how no one told me.

Today was my day off. I got some stuff done around the house, then Brian, Rhyan and I saw Transformers. Brian HATED it. I thought the first hour and 20 minutes was relatively entertaining, but the other HOUR was mostly boring as fuck, and overall it could have cut at least half an hour out and not really missed anything important to the plot. Plus I bought Brian's and my ticket (yay bargain Tuesdays), and popcorn, a hot dog, and drinks, so overall the movie cost me $22 and it wasn't that good. That doesn't even count the 9 bucks I spent at Dairy Queen and the quarter tank of gas to get there. But oh well. Yay for getting out of the house.

5:57 pm - My Awesome Day
So I had the best day ever today. And by the best, I mean the worst.

It started off at midnight, when Brian STILL wasn't home from Star Wars D&D, which I hadn't wanted him to go to anyway seeing as it was our last day off together for the next two weeks, and which he told me would be over fairly early (which I assumed would be 10:30 or so). He got home around 12:15, and I made it pretty clear that I wasn't pleased with him. However, he didn't apologize, which made me even more angry. I went to sleep angry, and woke up angry, and went to work angry. It was one of those times where I refused to instigate a fight because I felt it was his responsibility to apologize to me, so we kind of pretended nothing was wrong except I didn't show him any affection whatsoever.

So work was going about normally, as in, I was trying to get stuff done but was constantly interrupted by customers. About an hour and a half after Brian had dropped me off (because my car doesn't start, which is also fun), he came back in to give me some change from the recycling money, and I asked him if he was going to apologize any time soon or if I'd have to just stay mad. He said he didn't have anything to apologize for, and that we'd fight about it later. Good times.

So about an hour after that, I was on my way to the breakroom to get some water, when I saw my coworker mopping up POOP. It appeared as if somebody's baby had shat on the floor, and they didn't tell anyone. To make matters worse, some little girl slipped in said shit and had tracked it onto the carpet on the way to the bathroom. In the bathroom, she got water all over the floor, and then another lady slipped in said water and busted her knee, which she's already had surgery on. WHEE. So I cleaned the shit off the carpet because Melissa had mopped the giant pile off the tile, at which point Brian came in because he thought I'd be on lunch. I wasn't, so he was amused by the floor-shit and left. Then it was my lunch time. Mmm, appetizing.

So on my lunch, I decided that I'd utilize the change Brian had given me for a Nutter Butter, but much to my chagrin, the Nutter Butter got STUCK in the machine and wouldn't fall. Oh, and the lady who'd fell in the bathroom? Yeah, she was in the break room waiting for Karen to finish filling out her accident report. So anyway, I beat the shit out of the vending machine, which just wasn't going to let go of my Nutter Butter. So I scammed some change off Carol (who was also having a shitty day because she'd majorly fucked up a transaction earlier), and got another Nutter Butter, expecting the first one to fall. Well, the first one was STILL stuck, and I only got the second one. AAAAAAAH!

So anyway, I came back from lunch and Geramie was having a bad day because he had a hangover. I didn't have sympathy, but it was still just kind of a bad day for everyone. Then Geramie was like "Oh it's Wednesday, we can check our paystubs for Friday!" I checked mine... and I made $68 less than my last paycheck. Which is total BULLSHIT. Karen, the DOUCHE that she is, gave me 3 days off last week because I'd requested one of them, and didn't give me paid time off for the one I requested, and also shafted me out of the wicked awesome 4th of July money I would have made, which would be 8 hours of time-and-a-half pay. I hates her, precious! I mean, even if I'd had my normal amount of hours, it would have only been 6 hours more, and I don't make $68 in 6 hours so I don't know why my paycheck is so crappy.

Sooooooooo later on I went back to Catalog to find staples, and Brenda and her sister were back there talking to Karen. It seems Brenda's mom had a stroke last night/this morning. Poor Brenda's mom. Oh, and the hospital is RETARDED because they saw the early warning signs of a stroke, and they discharged her anyway. And then of course she had a stroke at home. Douches.

And now, I have to go to rehearsal. There was a theater board meeting tonight, which means JJ is going to be in a foul-ass mood. Argh.

Oh, and just as an added bonus: yesterday Brian and I went to Ft. Jones to go to the river with Crystal and her sister Sabrina, who brought her dog Codey, who puked ALL over the car on the way there. Once there, we only had half an hour to swim, and then had to come back, and of course the dog puked on the way back too. Sabrina couldn't get her head out the window in time, so the puke went all over Brian and a little on me. Such good times.

PS. I'll be on my period by tomorrow at the latest. AAAAAAAAAH!

11:24 pm - Baggathadouche
So pretty much everyone who would care was there, but I shall recount it anyway: Last weekend Bethany, Shasta, and I visited Alice in San Francisco.

Friday night I drove down to Woodland after working. I made okay time, but had a few delays, including a semi that had turned over. Pic behind the cut. )

Once in Woodland, Bethany drove Shasta and I to San Francisco in more traffic than we'd anticipated. We also decided to pay the toll almost entirely with quarters. Because we're bags of douche.

Once at Alice's, we decided drinking was in order, and walked to the corner liquor store for chasers. It was such a weird little store, as it was full of random stuff, including but not limited to, individual-sized bags of Almond Roca (I've never seen such a non-generic candy in a corner store before), Virgin Mary prayer candles, and religious stickers. Shasta still had quarters left, so we bought a Virgin Mary sticker from a vending machine. She sparkles with holograms. We found this absolutely hilarious. We also found this random window sign, which sounded dirty as hell. In the following pic, Bethany is holding Mary and pulling up her pant leg, both of which are difficult to see, but make it even better. Teen Adult Training )

Shasta and Alice proceeded to get drunk, and Alice gave me three pairs of shoes and a tank top, and a shirt and pants to Shasta. I don't think Bethany got anything but a purse. Poor Bethany.

Eventually, after much catching up, we went to bed at about 4:30 a.m. I woke up at 9:30, which made me royally hate life, but after calling my mom and Brian because I'd forgotten the night before, I went back to bed and luckily managed to sleep. I was still the first one up at noon though, and it took everyone else until about 2:30 before we were all dressed and ready to go.

Alice drove us around some of the residential areas to look at cool houses and whatnot, then we went to a place called Pizza Orgasmica, which truly lived up to its name. Oh, except they had a plumbing problem and the whole place smelled of piss so we had to move three times until we'd escaped it. Anyhoo, we had the "Serpent's Kiss" pizza, though the "Lindsay Lohan" and "Paris Go to Jail" were tempting. But we probably would've gotten Herpes just by ordering a pizza named after those two, so it's good that we didn't get them.

There was then more driving around, and eventually we made our way to Haight Street. It was cool, but I was wearing heels (because I was told we wouldn't be walking much) and had to walk down a hill, so my feet were kind of dying. Alice was going to buy me shoes, but I couldn't with good conscience let her spend $20 on ugly flip-flops, and the rest were hideously expensive. We hit some awesome stores, but what with being poor as hell, I only ended up spending ten bucks on hair dye at the drag queen store. I'm pretty proud of myself for that, yet still wish I'd had more spendin' cash.

We stopped off at Safeway and got boozy goodness, then back to Alice's briefly, then we went to a Kebab place for dinner. Damn was that good kebab. I now wish I'd been more adventurous and not just had chicken (which was still excellent), but I hadn't known what to expect.

Once back at Alice's, Kostya hid in the bedroom (actually I found it a little offensive how he totally avoided us all weekend, but oh well), while we girls drank and watched Talladega Nights. We had to drink every time they said "shake and bake," which with the appletinis made of apple liqueur and 100 proof Smirnoff, meant I was fucked up right quick. But for some reason I thought it was wearing off, so I drank MORE. Damn was I Drunky McDrunkerson. For a while there, I thought I was going to vom. But I had a little nap and then woke up feeling refreshed. Too bad it was like 3:00 a.m. at that point, and Alice went to bed.

Bethany, Shasta and I stayed up being dorks and I decided we had to take tons of pictures. But of course, I suck at the whole self-photography thing and kept getting shots of Bethany's boobs. I seriously have like 10 pictures of her torso, not counting the ones that I was sober enough to delete at the time. In my defense, Bethany was sober and really was no better.

At one point we decided to form an emo band and call ourselves Douche: The Band. Or "Baggathadouche" (bag-of-the-douche). I think if we were Douche: The Band, then "Baggathadouche" was our album title, and if we were Baggathadouche, then we'd have Douche: The Album. Really we had no plans to form an actual band, we just wanted to take pictures being emo and say "douche" a lot. Because I've made it everyone's favorite word. Other highlights of drunkenness include Shasta's looking through Alice's Human Sexuality book and me subsequently convincing Bethany and Shasta it would be awesome if they did one of the sex poses.

Eventually it got to be 5:00 a.m. so we went to bed. I woke up at 9:30 AGAIN and yearned for it to be later. At that point, I'd woken up so many times from Bethany's snoring that I'd thought it had to be at least 1:00 pm. But no. NO. Luckily I went back to sleep, and again was the first one up at noon. We managed to get out of there by just after 2:00, but not before taking many a failed picture of all four of us together. C'est la vie.

Bethany drove us back to Woodland in doomy traffic of doom, and we got semi-gross (but cheap) Chinese food at the Woodland mall. Then I was on my way. Yay for four hour drives all by myself. Oh, and my doohicky died so I had to listen to the RADIO all the way. Plus I went to drop my mom's car off at her house and she wasn't there. So what should have only taken three and a half hours took much longer. Not that I'm bitter.

Anyway, it was really awesome seeing Alice again. She may be skinny and married now, but she's the same Alice and I love her for it.
